Lifelong learning is expected of all team members at SES, INC.
Apprenticeship
All new trades persons enter as apprentices. 8,000 hours on the job training and 4 years of classroom training as mandated by the state of Maryland apprenticeship and training council are required.
Applicants not able to meet these requirements are not considered for employment
Apprentices are expected to complete the training and immediately sit or a journeyman’s license test in any jurisdiction the company requires. All licensing and fees are paid by SES
Journeyman
Journeymen wiremen are expected to work safely and efficiently without direct supervision
Journeymen with service vehicles are expected to maintain service and jobsite records, order and schedule material, and to coordinate customer and field security, work rules, and compliance
all journeymen are expected to pursue a master electrician license as soon as he or she meets the requirements.
Master
Master electrician supervises, as needed, field employees, serves as an authority on electrical code compliance, and performs other duties as assigned, commensurate with the abilities and experience of a master electrician
Leed
Leed certification is an optional career path for master electricians, depending on interest and the needs of SES, INC.
Bicsi
BICSI certification is an optional career path for master electricians, depending on interest and the needs of SES, INC.
Data and voice installation may or may not require the certification, and all employees are trained in terminating cat 5, 5e and 6, as part of the apprenticeship program
As technology, safety and innovation evolve, SES maintains a constant train-as-needed philosophy.
To the above goal, SES is currently setting up a training facility for hands-on training for all employees and students interested in honing their journeyman control and electrical skills
